Back in 2015, Carlos Ramos—a 30-year veteran of the service industry—founded a one-man contracting business in his backyard called Freezone. The idea was simple: offer free diagnostics to any homeowner within a 10-mile radius. He called this the "free zone." And in the HVAC world where pretty much everybody copies everybody else, this was revolutionary!

A lot has changed since 2015. Freezone outgrew Carlos' backyard, and now occupies a convenient spot on the Midlothian Turnpike just southwest of Richmond's downtown. The location also ensures that most of Richmond is covered within the "free zone." The company also does a LOT more business. Thousands of repairs and hundreds of installations are completed every year by Freezone's technicians and repair specialists!
